SixOnSaturday

In a triumph over other priorities and procrastination in general , I really got a few hour of gardening done last weekend . I stop the shed roof , more or less , I pull in former growth , lifted and divide a few things , grant the lawn its first mow of the year , had a little goodish and even planted some alliums ( but not all of them ) . It was quite the flurry of activity , relatively speaking . I rather savor it . I may be less rich in the garden this weekend as I have a fairly farsighted tally ( 51 km , hem ) to do today , a reconnaissance mission for a 50 Swedish mile raceway coming up next calendar month . Maybe tomorrow , we ’ll see .

In the meantime , let ’s do Six on Saturday . Six thing , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything , you determine !

Here are my Six …

1 – Lesser Celadine ‘ Brazen Hussy ’ . I ’ve managed not to forget the name in the week that has passed . Now get to flower , this one will probably be fully out at some point this weekend . I do n’t much like this shadowiness of chicken ( it is forever and a day deflower for me by forsythia ) but it is a courteous contrast with the purple bronze leaves .

2 – Aster ‘ Little Carlow ’ . I ’ve been meaning to move these for geezerhood , I finally got around to it last weekend . Having disinterred the clumps I divide them into smaller groups and replant further back in the border , interspersed with helenium ‘ Sahin ’s Early Flowerer ’

3 – Snowdrops , I consider . I stared at these for a while before remember ( probably ) what they are . Somebody from this parish sent me some snowdrop in the green last year , I ’m ashamed to say I forget who . It ’s decent to seem them growing well , they clearly survived the transportation system and my ham - fisted planting . Thanks !

4 – genus Malus ‘ Rudolph ’ , buds . This little tree is rousing itself after its first winter in my garden . Let ’s see if it create blossom this time around .

5 – Narcissi ‘ cyclamineus ’ . I must say there is n’t a lot obviously Cyclamen purpurascens - ish about these daffs , for it is they for which these are name .

6 – Viburnum tinus . plant for some wintertime interest , it ’s more like early bound and there ’s not a circumstances of interest . Still , must n’t grouch .

Have a endearing weekend , I hope you get some gardening done !

I ’ll be back next weekend for another # SixOnSaturday .
