Going for the gold!

My name is Kathleen Shelman , and I have been gardening for more than 30 years on an acre outdoors of Portland , Oregon . We are in the foothill of the Cascades , so we get quite a bit of rainwater , which makes for many grey days . Also , many of the trees I institute year ago have ( surprise ) become quite large , and I bump myself with more shadiness . Because of this , I have found myself adding more and more golden shrubs to the garden , to the gunpoint where I need to prompt myself that light-green and its many variations are also leaf colors . Here are a few of my favorites that keep their atomic number 79 color all summer .

Hydrangea serrata‘Golden Sunlight ’ ( ‘ Golden Sunlight’mountain hydrangea , Zones 6–9 )

Hakonechloamacra‘All Gold ’ ( ‘ All Au ’ hakone grass , Zones 5–9 ) ruminate on theDisporum longistylum‘Night Heron ’ ( ‘ Night Heron ’ Taiwanese queer bells , Zones 5–9 ) .
