If You Go Down to the Dump Today…

Sometimes we have to take applesauce to the municipal waste-yard , specially if we have had   prawns or Cancer the Crab and the refuse is n’t due to be amass for another 2 week . I always look in the skip of garden refuse and I have larn many cuttings of interesting plants this way . Obviously it has to be full , I do n’t in reality climb in . The men in armorial bearing are deeply suspicious because any hoarded wealth are their booty and they betray them . But they are obviously baffled by someone fish out twig or leaf . My best discovery was thisYucca ‘ Variegata’which I found a couple of years ago . It is bloom for the first prison term this class . I ’m not indisputable whether it isfilimentosaorgloriosabut I do n’t care it was free and it is beautiful . The thing people cast off away !

What a marvelous thing to find at the dump !

Good for you ! The undergardener is the one who go to the tip but he would n’t know a sound plant I ’m afraid , but once when he was just about to dump some wild flag iris , the next mortal swoop on them , she went off glad !

What a find ! We do n’t have dumps like that but maybe I should consider checking out the green bins people put out on the street . There is an especially good gardener several houses up the street , although she ’s probably not foolish enough to throw out anything really good …

Any growing/ flowering tips for your variegated Yucca ? I have one for some years but never have had a flower . It is embed in gravel with poor soil below in full sun . The foliage are level-headed enough though it has been dim to grow . I have a plain lead one also , no flowers either . It ’s in a damper spot in peaty soil – low natality . I pretend I ’ve answered my own question , I had better feed them ! Was yours rooted at all when you fish it out or if not did it require special conditions to get it rooted ? You had a great root around all told !

Wow , that is a neat find ! I had to chuckle – we fondly remember my late grandmother who rule some unbelievable objects in other masses ’s trash , include all right wood article of furniture , beatles albums , and ceramic vases . It is astonishing what people throw out .

Oh what a dish Chloris . As they say ( I ’m never sure who they are ) “ one man ’s rubbish is another homo ’s hoarded wealth ” . Himself does most of the tipping here but I ’m sure that it ’s just a shell of in and out as tight as he can . We have the same bird of Jove eyed guards here too 🙂
