Garden scenes from down under
Hello , this is Cindy Strickland . I wanted to share a few scenes from an October 2017 misstep I take to the area around Sydney , Australia .
I enjoy walk in and around the historicVaucluse Houseand its garden .
This is the fountain garden at the Vaucluse House .
And here is the shut in cool and shaded region conterminous to the sign of the zodiac dominated by the tree diagram fern and tower .
The texture and patterns of the Australian stubble tree fern(Cyathea cooperi)are remarkable .
TheAlloxylon flammeum ( its common gens are blood-red silky oak or tree waratah ) has brilliant red flowers and is often cultivated as asmall Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree .
Outside a florist store in the city there were buckets filled withbouquetsof these bloom . I think some of them areProtea , which are in the same folk as theAlloxylon .
On a visit to Leura , in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney , I encountered this post boxwood surrounded by gorgeous blooms .
On one of the harbour track to the Opera House , this mass of flush with the Oliver Stone wall made a endearing sketch .
