Remembering a garden creation
Today ’s photos come from Charlie Benedick , who is remember a former garden in Virginia .
We began by sum shrubs , tree diagram , and then perennial . Then we added a terrace . It was my dream garden . unhappily , we were only able-bodied to live here three and a one-half year before moving on . I hope the new proprietor love this garden as much as I did . I miss it every Clarence Day .
From this view of the front garden , it ’s hard to consider that this was nearly a white slate when the gardener arrived !

The patio count like a wonderful space to relax and is surrounded by a beautiful planting with color coming from a range of dissimilar leaf types .
container of annuals get in an additional jounce of colouring material .
Bigleaf hydrangea ( Hydrangea macrophylla , Zones 6–9 ) loaded down with flowers .

These intrepid geranium ( Geraniumsp . , maybe ‘ Rozanne ’ , Zones 5–8 ) flowers are beautiful from this angle .
A huge stand of smart bee balm ( Monarda didyma , Zones 4–10 ) .
A mass of loose , informal annuals growing together creates the tone of a romantic cottage garden .
