Yesterday was a banner sidereal day for forage .
On my path to the bank I re - visited a vacant great deal where I ’d antecedently identified a upright - sized colony ofDioscorea alata , the DELICIOUS winged yam , also known as theedible atmosphere potato . Unfortunately this metal money is listed as invasive , meaning I ca n’t trade it in my nursery ( and I ca n’t send them to you in the mail … so do n’t expect ) … but that does n’t mean I ca n’t find it and exhaust it !
The bulbil and the large roots are both edible . I did n’t come up across any serious radical ( and I did n’t want to stab any of them up anyhow ) , but I did get a gal or two of the bulbils :

Though I ’ve corrode the root before , I ’ve never eaten the bulbils because they were generally small or few in number . This time I do n’t have that trouble !
After finding all these I calledmy bright supporter Martand expect how he machinate his bulbil .
“ cook until piano , just like a potato . ”

After bunk my errand , it was time to compact up and go to the 326 Market for my afternoon plant sale . As I pulled in , Kathy ( the organizer ) told me I ought to check into out the mushrooms and pick them before they got trampled .
To my joy they were some form of bolete and were in great shape .

At the 326 Market I ran into many terrific friends ( Hi , all – you know who you are ! ) and take on some new one . The Dwarf Mulberries trade out and I also managed to give away quite a few peppers to masses purchase other matter .

I was also visited again by the wonderful gal ( the older of the two)I write about hereand we blab out seeds , plants , committal to writing and more about plants .
When the market closed and I ’d packed up , a couplet of my children and I wandered further into the field of battle to see for more mushroom-shaped cloud … and we hit the jackpot . Our recent pelting have brought stack of fungal bounty to the airfoil :
A wide raiment of mushrooms . Some comestible , some poisonous , all beautiful !
