Drought-tough grasses & sedges & more
Rain drops !
descend on my plant .
Not so many drop in east Austin as elsewhere last calendar week , but I ’m not returning my 1 - 1/2″.

Even that regenerate the garden and brought out the firstLycoris radiata ! Its backdrop is my young bamboo muhly .
Still , we all know comfortably than to rest on our more or less - moistened accolade ( specially the single with pointy leaves . . .like my drouth - tough bay laurel ) .
So , this week on CTG , Mae Sanchez fromBarton Springs Nurseryand Tom get together to pick out some drouth - elusive ornamental grasses and sedges . Mae ’s list ( which will be on CTG ’s internet site ) includes choices for Sunday and shade . My shovel has fuck off a few idea already .

In my garden , I also rely on garlic chives for tough - as - nail accent to other leaf form .
I got mine years ago when a gardener tear a handful out of the primer for me . They get a mixture of sun and shade . They ’re edible , too , but I wish them for their mostly evergreen plant foliage . When the flowers appear , I know we ’re getting closemouthed to a handshake with fall .
HerbalistEllen Zimmermanndevotes her garden to plants that fulfill medicinal and culinary demand ( and that hold wildlife ) . You ’ll forgather her this week on our leap sojourn to her garden . Since we ’re on the brink of plant again , I think you ’ll get a few ideas to get this fall to come out some eyes get along fountain .

On our sojourn , I see that she had the bizarre thistle that had sprung up in my garden .
Ellen confirmed it as milk thistle . Some of you may study it a weed , but take a look at Ellen ’s side of itsbeneficial chronicle .
