A lush garden full of beauty

Today we ’re off to Antioch , California , to visit with Doris .

A little garden structure peak out of the luxuriant plantings , encouraging you to explore .

Formal , straight - edged garden beds are the thoroughgoing counterpoint to the lush planting , giving the whole garden a sense of order and calmness .

Even in California you could have beautiful fall people of colour on the Tree — though for those of us in colder clime , the green tree laden withcitrus fruitsnext to it is a act of a surprise !

Red and yellow dusk leave behind rain down over the garden .

Here the red-faced - and - yellow colour dodge comes not from foliage but from a bright array of blossom , no doubt pet of the localhummingbirds .

What an interesting way to displayorchids ! Pots with hooks make a wall of colorful efflorescence , while the structure overhead provides the bright shade that these orchids ( Phalaenopsishybrids ) need to thrive . It looks like the orchidaceous plant are develop in wad that are just set down inside the hanging containers , meaning it would be easy to move them around to highlight those in peak rosiness .

The steps down into the garden , wrapped in plushy verdure , are like a magical tunnel into another earth !
