Summer annuals shine in a sensational array of colors
Hi GPODers !
Today we ’re in Althea Bailey ’s garden , but her submission was a focal point on a particularly colourful summer yearbook : petunias ( Petuniacvs . , one-year ) . Whether you ’re filling in spots in a margin , or collecting a kaleidoscope of colour in container , these perky plants are a joy to have amongst other summer blooms .
This assorted shade of purple genus Petunia is huge and can not discontinue spring up . Petunias love a lot of body of water so it ’s important to keep them hydrous , top up the water supply regularly with miracle grow flora nutrient , and watch them grow vast .

Take a look at my photos I trust you will make out all the dissimilar varieties . Thank you .
With so many different colors and styles , you could plant genus Petunia for years and never get commonplace of these colorful heyday . In jus this photo , three dissimilar purple petunia with distinctively unlike looks are on display .
Petunias are also one of the very few plants that have several black variety . This is a great yearbook if you like some darker tones in the garden , want to institute up something spooky for the Halloween time of year , or need a dark line to promising colors like Althea did here .

But petunias are not the only flowers that Althea is potting up . Some bright red scarlet salvia ( Salviasplendens , Zones 10–11 or as an annual ) and a vibrant pink tobacco heyday ( Nicotianaalata , Zones 10–11 or as an yearly ) bring some different forms and grain to the mix .
But petunias are really the wizard . From mound lot to hang baskets dripping with flower .
give thanks you for divvy up your flower - fill garden with us , Althea ! image all the different variety you ’re originate together give me a whole raw perspective on petunias . It also inspired me to get out of doors and take some pictures …

Of these absolutely insane marigold ( Tagetes patula ) my female parent grow from semen ! This is the first year she hear out direct - sowing seeds rather than buying plant , so there She set out the seeds a little subsequently than she need and while the plants grew and grew all summer , she did n’t get a single flower until belated August . Now they are utterly incubate in blooms and even more buds .
This is the‘Happy Days ’ mixing from Burpee , so there is a delicious intermixture of orange , red , and yellow on all of the flowers .
But like Althea ’s petunia , I ’m eff the variations in colors and mode . Some distinctively uncase , others see nearly monochromous , and others still front almost outline in yellow .

Thanks again for sharing , Althea !
