What a garden designer grows for herself
receive to the home garden of Kathleen Cope in Colorado .
While I garden for others to make a living , my own garden will always entertain the most particular post in my heart . I started with a unsheathed piece of shite 22 days ago when the house was work up , and I love every 24-hour interval that I can sit on our deck and delight the peak . This time of class , when we are anticipate coke tomorrow in Colorado , really make me farseeing for those summer days .
This moving-picture show was take in previous June . The purple salvia(Salvia nemorosa , Zones 4–8 ) is quite abundant , and I am always pulling some out and hoping nearby neighbour will take some . June is an exciting time in the garden for those of us living at 7200 feet .

In this picture , the garden is coming to life with Oriental poppies(Papaver orientale , Zones 3–9 ) , Rocky Mountain penstemon(Penstemon strictus , Zones 4–9 ) , paint daisies(Tanacetum coccineum , Zones 3–9 ) , whiskery iris(Irishybrid , Zones 3–9 ) , catmint(Nepetasp . , Zones 4–8 ) , and regal salvia . This is when I get the most mass stop and staring and even adopt picture of the garden . There is a lot lead on because this garden has a mind of its own and does what it desire to do . I am happy to let the perennial reseed and detect their own spot in the garden . I think the flowers sometimes have a secure idea of where they want to be than I do .
This is a recurrent combination I love and use oft . Purple salvia , dianthus(Dianthussp . , Zones 4–8 ) , and pink thyme(Thymussp . , Zones 4–9 ) make a pleasing combination of color , texture , and unlike heights .
One more guess of this perennial combination because it has ‘ Husker ’s Red ’ penstemon(Penstemon digitalis‘Husker ’s Red ’ Zones 3–8 ) in the desktop , and I love the purple foliage with the purple salvia and pink dianthus .

This part of the garden tend to count its secure later , when the daisies and coneflower are bloom , but for now purple salvia and magniloquent yellow columbine(Aquilegiasp . , Zones 4–8 ) seem to be glad . ( Darn purple salvia , even though it is a great workhorse in the garden . ) This part of the garden keeps change as the aspen tree gets bigger and big . I never wanted an aspen Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree in the centre of my garden , but the declarer put it in and of path it is the prettiest aspen tree diagram in the neighbourhood .
Thanks for let me partake photos of my garden on a gray daytime in April in Colorado !
